Cuban writer wins the III El Barco de Vapor CARIBE 2022 Award

Books are an essential resource for the educational process of children and adolescents, allowing them to imagine, discover, travel, and understand the world around them. With this in mind, the SM Foundation, which works toward the improvement of education and culture, announced today, Saturday, the extension of its Reading Promoters Course offerings.

The objective of this initiative is to strengthen reading among the entire population, stated Juan Reyes, General Director of SM Puerto Rico.

After having trained more than 900 participants through virtual courses in June, the SM Foundation will offer this opportunity again in the month of July.

“This initiative, free of charge, is proof that teamwork is necessary to promote reading in children and adolescents. The participation validates the success of these courses for the development of reading in this generation,” expressed Reyes.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend virtual courses that integrate strategies, modeling, theoretical content, and practical workshops on how to keep reading motivation alive and spread it.”

The deadline to register is July 15, 2022.
